Behind the Lens:
For over 30 years I worked in the newspaper industry. No, not as a photojournalist but as a circulation manager with a goal to provide superior customer service. As technology started to provide an easier means to distribute news to the public, my career in this field came to an end in 2013. Always a photography enthusiast, I then took this hobby and made it into my profession, resulting in the birth of Flatirons Pro Media with the same goal for superior customer service.
Although my early years comprised mostly of nature photography, I gained an in-depth understanding of natural light which I bring into my photography. I feel it is this attention to detail in my work that has helped propel me forward, extending my repertoire into homes, business, and commercial photography.
After I lost my job in 2013, if anyone were to have asked me where I thought I would be in five years, I never would have imagined that I would be living out my passion, or as some might say “living the dream.” Of course, none of this would have been possible without the love and support of my wife who believed in me. Now, I get to spend each day using my passion to help homeowners sell/rent their home, event coordinators, marketing managers, and business owners capture their products/special moments which give viewers an emotional connection to their business.
